You must have been older than me when I passed, I was 22. I wanted a CBR600 but the insurance fully comp was £3000   (and I'd been driving since I was 17  )
Insurance on the CB500 started at £925 but it's down to a very comfy £80 / year now :cheesy:
1996 406 1.8LX Got a bad case of hydro lock!
1996 406 Executive 2.0 Turbo XU10J2TE No longer hangin' on in there :(

2003 Volvo V40 1.8 GDi SE killed by a nutter in a beemer 5 series

I was 17 when I passed. That was back in the day of 'rider' insurance, where most policies entitled you to ride up to a certain capacity and didn't specify a particular bike. You could chop and change bikes at whim and provided you stayed within your capacity limit never needed to inform the insurers. Think the Gixxer was about £400 a year, which was a phenomenal ammount back then.

I looked that up.....
9.6mpg :o Is this a new record for a diesel :?:
1st gear 29
2nd 55
3rd 90
4th 120, (theoretically)
5th 125, (according to Autocar)

Drove home sedately, parked, noted strong smell of burning , but no smoke.
I'm thinking regenicus interuptus
OK after a couple more 'cooling down' miles.

Haven't tried the fog light test as yet........
I'll post the fixed penalty notice shortly :supafrisk:
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Driving back from my parents tonight i came across my first Nob driving with front fogs on, which reminded me of this thread.

After that i was hoping that i would see someone else with foggies on so i could try out my plan, i wasn't disapointed as another Moron came hooning around a corner with four lights a blaze, so i flicked my fogs on and off to remind the on coming driver that his fogs are on.

Result - he did nothing :frown:

I didn't have to wait much longer before i was greeted with my next customer. This time i flashed full beam at him.

Result - Full beam back in my face

Cheers

You need a 407 TooTs - nothing can beat those projector Xenon mains! you even get a self dimming rear view mirror so when the nobs do the same from behind you don't suffer for their ignorance and stupidity.
