406 Key fob body

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

406 Key fob body

Post by Wrinkly57 »

Good day all, village idiot from Lincolnshire again with a question that's been asked before but I can't find the answer anywhere although I have looked (honest!) Where can I obtain a new or s/h key fob body only for 406 2.0HDi 110 GLX? The existing key and remote work but a little while ago the button fell out and with a touch of superglue I put it back and all has been well, until today when I noticed that the button itself now has a small hole in it and a few cracks. I've seen whole keys on e-bay but no one seems to supply just the bodies. Any ideas anyone?

Could you not just replace the rubber button cover? They're on eBay for about £7 or £8 quid.

That said, it'd still be cheaper to buy a second hand key though as I've now bought 2 in the last fortnight off eBay for the princely sum of £6 delivered.

I just buy a key from ebay and switch the bit of casing with the button

I think they're for the D8, and only for the big button (if you have deadlocks)

Yes you're right, and only a fiver from the stealers! (For a silly bit of rubber with a lion on it  )
