where is the hall sensor on a 406 turbo petrol?

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

I'd guess you're looking for the crank sensor.

I think the rev counter is driven by the ecu, the crank sensor tells the ecu where the engine's at. I can't see there being the traditional Hall sensor if there's no dizzy.

The crankshaft sensor lives by the flywheel. At the top to the rear I think. Might have to take the air box out to get to it

All the diagrams I can see are exceptionally vague as to its location

I can tell you it's part 1920W9, costs £23.26, and that it sits in the engine somewhere around the flywheel's circumference. It appears to have its 3-pin connector mounted on a small bracket a short distance away from the sensor itself

I'd go and have a nose, but I don't own a tubby any more. Also it's too cold :(
