Re: stearing wheel
Firstly, disconnect the battery! Do not forget to do this as an airbag going off in your face is not going to leave you very pretty...
Generally on ABS steering wheels there are 2 bolts/screws, one on either side of the airbag, undo these and then the airbag usually pops out. Disconnect the wiring and then you have access to the big nut in the centre of the steering wheel. Possibly a 21mm (the one on my 309 is), so undo this and then tug hard (but not hard enough for the wheel to come back and smash you in the face) at the steering wheel as it's likely to be jammed on the end of the column quite well. You may need to take the indidcator canceller off the end of the steering wheel and onto the new boss (assuming you're fitting after-market) using circlip pliers.
The above is a general 'how to' guide and not vehicle specific so may be slightly different for 406s... Alternatively just get a Haynes manual and read the instructions in there!

You could leave the nut on the last couple of threads, thus saving on dental expenses...HimBigChief wrote: Disconnect the wiring and then you have access to the big nut in the centre of the steering wheel. Re: stearing wheel
Good point, that's what I tend to do, I also tend to give it a few taps with a hammer/mallet around the rim to loosen it up a bit.You could leave the nut on the last couple of threads, thus saving on dental expenses...

Re: stearing wheel
Does anyone else know that when the D9 was developed one of the 'enhancements' was the fitting of a 4-spoke factory MAGNESIUM steering wheel
It will be lighter and stronger I imagine than many aftermarket wheels.
Here's the article http://www.cwn.org.uk/motoring/peugeot/ ... n-sale.htm
In fact I didn't know we had electronic brake force distribution talked about there too.

*snigger*The Intelligent Control Box (BSI) now forms part of a multiplexed network. This connects the dashboard, the onboard navigation and the car radio on the LCD display and the CD changer. All these systems communicate with each other more effectively than before
