What's a stage one tune on a 2.1TD? I mean, what does it involve? It seems that most people just get them remapped to 140bhp, as that's the easiest option.

Hello and welcome by the way.

Actually it's fairly rare for a 2.1TD to be re-mapped because the clutch will give under the extra torque. Dunno about the 306 clutch though

What's fmic? Four monkeys in car? F#cked mine in crash?

I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang and invalidating our inurances. Sad but true.

It is interesting to see what could be done to them, one can dream, but I can barely keep up with the cost of repairs as it is without chucking money at it to get me into trouble even faster :(

It's a "Front Mounted Intercooler"

Tuning wise the 1.9td can be 'tweeked' and this is done by frigging the fuel pump to squirt more diesel in. It is a bit hit and miss etc but some guys get really surprising gains (although the fuel pump won't really thank you for it).

The 2.1 is electronically controlled so remapping is the thing here.

But, as the others said, we just run our cars standard as the 406 is hardly a 'cool' car out there on the streetz is it?

I like the 306 because it manages to remain modern looking even though the design dates back to the early 90's :o

hello :)

i am also off the pug306 site and you can stage 1 tune the 90bhp lump to about 110-115 with a few tweeks (you might even get more from the 406's as there ic ins mounted on the front) and it costs you nothing at all
