Intercooler Question
Hi there again I am looking for sme info. My intercooler has blown and I am looking to get some info on it before I make up my mind if I should upgrade or replace.
1. I am looking for the Dimensions (in mm Height Width and Length)
2. What other cars is the Intercooler on (i.e. 2.1 HDI etc)
3. If I upgraded would it be easy to fit an after market Intercooler without all the hastle of cutting bits of the bdy off??
Thanks

2. XUD9TE (1.9TD), XUD11BTE (2.1TD), DW10ATED (HDi110)
Peugeot part 384F4, £279.44
Surprised according to servicebox the HDi134 doesn't have an i/c?!?

Re: Intercooler Question
but according to Haynes it has both air to air and water to air
Isn't my 2.1's intercooler like a radiator, while the Hdis are a box next to the rad?

2. I think they are same size, not 100% sure.
3. Its quite easy to modify aftermarket one to same place as original one. It took about 4 hrs total when i upgrade this http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg27 ... ooleri.jpg to its place. Core size is 550mmx230mmx76mm 2,5"

Re: Intercooler Question
If you have a local car radiator repair place take it there ,they will test it and prob

The air-air is about the same as a 110, likesteve_earwig wrote:but according to Haynes it has both air to air and water to air![]()

The water to air is used to heat the intake air during warm-up, (& FAP regen) and is difficult to geta picture of, looks like a s/steel tube running diagonally behing the radiator like this

You can (just) see the lower air pipe connection & lower water hose.

Re: Intercooler Question
That's quite a lot different to the 110 Doggy
even the radiator connection is different and I didn't know about the water/air exchanger!

Re: Intercooler Question
TBH I've never really looked at a 406 110, but had seen the early 307 installation & a few 406 under-bonnet pics & assumed they were the same.

Re: Intercooler Question
I'm currently breaking a td xantia with an intercooler. I'll get a few snaps later and see if it's the one you need.
