Mirror Conversion

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Mirror Conversion

Post by eoin27 »

Has anyone here ever converted manual wing mirrors to electric? I really only want it for the temp sensor.

No problem Puggy, just give them a good kick :P (Not sure how the fold-in mechanism works)

Er, no idea. Where's Teamster? :P

Presumabubbly all you need to do is provide power and earth, then wire the switches to the motors. It might make things easier if you can rip the looms out of the doors you get the mirrors off. Hmm, then you need to wire the driver's door switch to the passenger... Are you absolutely sure you want them??

You don't want them from a car with mammary seats of course, then it gets even more complicated (if that's possible)

Do the looms start at the mirror and end at the middle of the door? Then they go through that plug that connects the electrics in the door to the car? So I need to get looms, mirrors and tell the car it has electric mirrors?

As I said.. i really only want the external temp sensor to work

And no, my car is so far removed from electric seats, theres no chance i could put them in. Although they're handy, my dads 607 has em. Very clever the way they work with the wing mirrors
