Phillips Extreme Power H7 bulbs fitted

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Does it say the colour temp on the packet Welly? The only ones I can find say "Ultra blue 3400 Kelvin", and the ad states they have a blue tint... :?

Yes they are - I got them free, so, thinking about it, it made my bulbs a better price!

Buy the Phillips Extremes - you won't be dissapointed.

When I got mine I was impressed with the mains & disapointed with the dips.....
Had a sidelight fail and mindful of how often these went on my last car, (to the point where I changed both if one went), decided multi-chip leds were the way to go....
Bought a set of sidelight led bulbs, (which look the same as yours), & uprated the dips while I was at it.
I thought the sidelights looked fairly blue, (i.e. chavish), so decided to keep quiet about it

The brighter set of dips are a real improvement :cheesy: but tried them in the mains & didn't really see any improvement :(

Decided to leave it at that, unless I give in & go for HID's - found a projector HID conversion but it's nearly £200

2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

rapport25 wrote:The bulbs I would agree. but please bare in mind I have had them for 3 years. And I think ace have been doing them for around 5 years. So they are old technology.

Is it right that you should replace bulbs as they can loose there brightness after a period of time? The reason I ask Is because I have a few spare sets of the bulbs im using. Not changed a dipped beam bulb.

I would say mine are bright, but yours do seem to show more distance and width than mine i agree. Side lights no competition Very shocked. What side light bulbs are they welly?

Have you purchased bulbs for full beam also?

Not really. It used to be a problem before tungsten-halogen bulbs but they're designed so the tungsten that evaporates from the filament settles back there.

:arrowu:

Right, my bulbs are in and I'm quite pleased.

Been driving around in poor light (but not really dark) in the mornings and afternoons for a couple of days, and to be honest I wasn't that impressed, but I've been out tonight in the proper dark and was well impressed.

These photos don't really show it but there is a marked difference between the two.....

Sidelights only, new one on our left

Dips, new one on our left

Dips, new one on our right

Both the Philips bulbs in....
