I'd be carefull with stainless as the Diesel engine makes a very low grumble and you do not want to here this at all :frown:

I said that I had a cheapish back box fitted recently and I think they've cottoned on to the fact that the HDi needs very little 'silencing' BUT it leaves you with a horrible deep grumble, sounds crap.

I'm only saying this as most powerflow types are basically a straight through silencer with parallel sound absorbing glass wool so I think you'd be left with the same old grumble.

If it was me I'd want something mid range from an exhaust place - in fact I'd be ringing national tyres or someone and asking for cheap, mid, and high end prices to choose from (most people settle for the cheapest so they don't tend to stock the better ones).

I'd get the best I could afford and then I would paint all the exposed bits that rust in my own time at home.

We're on the same page, Welly. Ordered an OE back box from here £106 delivered, but I'm thinking it will definetly do the 4 years or so I intend to own it, without compromising my peace & quiet. 8)
Plan to tart up the mid section support as you suggest & swap the pads myself.

The good garage scheme is exactly that mate, a scheme.
I used to work for a garage that became a member whilst I worked there. All you have to do to become a member is pay a small fee monthly which gets you in the listings, stock and sell there product which is Forte.
Its basicaly a legal scam by forte to sell there products.
I worked for a back street garage which was pretty much a sh*t hole. They never looked into customer satisfaction or relations, figure or anything.
They also ask for you to hand out these leaflets to customers which is like a feedback scheme. All my ex bosses used to do was hand them to regular customers who you knew were more than likey to give a good review. The other half of the leaflets filled in were by my bosses and posted to "The good garage scheme" offices.
The leaflets were only given to the garage AFTER they were "accepted" onto the "scheme"
