Re: Disconnecting battery later D9's
ouch
does that mean 2 bulky keys on the keyring then, or can you get a barrel made up/set/etc to fit a given key?

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

I guess there should be a way round it if you don't normally use the key in the door locks - must be possible to transfer the key blade to a different black body - this would let you have the original plip & transponder with key to match replacement ignition switch?

Re: Disconnecting battery later D9's
Looked into it last year when first had the problem ,you provide vin
number plus the key number you get on the little card in the owners
wallet and then you get a matched ignition and key . Ignition barrel
is £132 and because i dont have the card with the number on another £20
to source it.
so you end up with the same set up as before
not a hard job to cos took it all out last year to bodge it
the transponder
is just a plastic ring around the ignition barrel that you prise off and snap
back on when you done .

I've just had to sort out a new ignition barrel for our Berlingo Van at work but luckily had the card code number so they just sent a new matched barrel and the old key fits a treat. I say 'I' sorted - it was just a phone call to the garage
It's about time you had some trouble with yours puggy - it's FAR to reliable for my liking

Re: Disconnecting battery later D9's
Cheers silver , i did consider doing that last time as i know its the wire
at fault and it gets hot when blowers on full ,may look into that although
am worried about the key jamming in the ignition again

Re: Disconnecting battery later D9's
Disconnected my battery today & now can't get my remote to work.
Tried the ign on/off/on again & press the big button, (tried it again pressing it twice), Nada
Went to look up the handbook on ServiceBox & it's not there anymore
, (unless I'm missing something)?
Any ideas, folks?
