Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

obd interface fallen behind dash

Post by amron »

Hi guys I went to plug in my code reader tonight but the interface has fallen behind the panel. I can catch the wires with my fingers but not able to pull back into place. Am I able to get to it if I undo the flat screwson the panel underneath the steering wheel, 3 off them and glue it back into place,
Cheers Norma

Sounds like you mean the 3 screws you realease to open the passenger fusebox cover. They're 1/4 turn fixings BTW.
Can't do any harm & you may be able to get at the OBD connector that way - I've only looked once & honestly can't remember.

There's more than three screws. You've got 3 studs holding the soundproofing on, then about 3 visible screws and another 3 well hidden ones on the plastic. I remember one of them is in a REALLY awkward place but can't recall where...

Managed it after work pulled the lever on left hand side and 1/4 turned the studs that was it one of the wee clips on the sideof the connecter has broken thats why it fell behind  So thanks for the tips I would have probably tried to screw the studs off.
Cheers
