misfire when idliling

Post by tricky1976 »

I got a 2.0 non hpi D9 and its misfiring when its idiling its fine when you accerlerate but when you come to a stop its just sounds a bit rough. The engines ticks over around 600-650 rpm mark i dont know if this has to do with anything o its fine when its cold because the engine idiling is higher

Is it actually misfiring, or is it just a lumpy idle?
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Hi,

Was there no solution to this ?

My 2L petrol GTX D9 (47k) has the same problem....

Almost like its coughing only at tickover rpm. It can be hesitant pulling away but once above 1000-1500 rpm its fine.
Seems to be a little smoother once the engine reaches normal running temp.

I had the "Anti Pollution" light on 3 weeks ago but it has not come on again...
Also think my cat rattles a bit on over run....

Any ideas..?

Cheers

mine a bit hesitant when it been cold pulling away but mile down the road its fine i just thought mine done 150k it must be clog up with something i was thinking shooting some carb cleaner down its neck to see if that helps but touchwood mine has'nt said anything about 'Anti Pollution' sound expensive

Worth slopping some injector cleaner in the tank?
