It's Christmas again - HELPPPPP!!!

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Holy crap :( I think you know what that is. Try the connectors under the carpet first, then a reset. I really do hope it's not the BSI :(

Yep, I had this once before on a customers car, water in the footwell, all connectors corroded, many faults in the dash and locking system, no speedo, temp at full, fuel gauge up and down, management light on, indicators messing about, all sorts of crazy faults.

I have had this on mine, didn't get a definitive cure for it but it seemed to be moisture in my cd changer the first time (don't change cds when its raining!), dash would come back on after starting car and waiting for 2-3 mins, second time which was a bit worse as it wouldn't kick back in and had to drive home with no speedo on the A11, seemed to be my rear light cluster with moisture inside, thought it was the BSI at first and did all the reset procedures but it was all fine once the car dried out.

Conveniently always seems to be after my girlfriend drives my car....

This viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4859&p=47803 is my old post about it...

I think if you lock the car and leave it for 5 mins (might have been longer, give it upto 20 mebbe) the lights will all go off, mine would then kick in again anytime i just unlocked the car and power started running though again, ii all started on mine by my hearing the radio from outside the car when i unlocked it with the plip.... ooh and the beeping....

twice? it's overkill, that what!

Once a day is enough, and if you have enough underwear you only need to do the washing once every month or two 8) Having 60 pairs of identical socks helps too :cheesy:
