Hello!

Why an auto? I mean unless you need an auto I'd be a little carefull because the Peugeot Slushmatic box is generally reported as being a bit troublesome and almost non-repairable :|
Cars in my care:
2021 Kia Spottage 1.6 Pez Turbo Dual Clutch Gearbox Trickery
2013 Renner Twingo - donkey work

Hi there Rob. Anything to be gained by changing the oil more often than the book says? A lot of these gearbox failures (Bimmers spring to mind) is 'cos the oil changes are once every century. Or they're "sealed for life" snigger...

i think the general consensus is the auto box knackers with the torque of the v6, especially the 210bhp ES9J4S. The reason the diesels aren't affected so much is because they're not floored as often :cheesy:
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Faps only seem to be fitted to 2.2 HDis and some later 2.0 110s (mine's an '04 but doesn't have one, then it came from Italy). Stiil, plenty more to go wrong.

Panel beater? How are you with bonnets... :cheesy:

I don't think Peugeot's are sealed, looks like that's a major cock-up anyway - I think it's BMW whose "sealed for life" 'boxes are failing at fairly modest miles and owners having a fight with the manufacturers who are saying they should have had an oil change

Manual boxes are normally sealed for life. Most auto box should be changed every so often.

You think it's ok? Corrosion and that.

I was only kidding about the bonnet, someone just came on with a mangled one.
