Or rather, Pug tried a new one and it worked but I was too stingy to buy it so I thought I'd see if it could be fixed, took it to bits, couldn't fix it so I went shame-faced back to Pug and bought the new one.

Thank you kindly. If the car was red, or white or some other less subtle colour, then it wouldn't work, but with the dark grey, I think it looks pretty good. I'll probably put the standard stereo back in as I've also taken that apart and sprayed the front and flip mech face part, but unfortunately one of my dogs chewed 6 of the buttons from the front last night , before I got the chance to put it all back together, so I need to liberate some from a scrappy. I only put the Kenwood headunit and surround in as I couldn't be doing a 70mile daily commute with the wife in the car without a stereo!I generally don't like interior modifications like that, but in your case I'll make an exception. It looks GREAT!
Half the reason I got the car was because of the tow bar! This is still my everyday practical car and I need a towbar I'm afraid. I will repaint it black so it looks a bit better, and get rid of the number plate protector part as that looks naff, but I'm afraid it's there to stay. Two suggestions: Lose the towbar and get some chrome mouldings or do a captainjack job to your existing mouldings
Cheers for that, but it's not finsihed yet. Give me a few more months and then we'll see what you think...easily the nicest D8 i've seen
