hi all,

thought it'd be rude not to come here and say hi before asking some questions about the 2.0 2001 glx i just got - so hi :cheesy:

as for the questions....... how do i tell what engine i have? and what is a D8?

and for the one thats puzzling me - what is the antipollution fault??? i've done some google searches and people have said that they get the engine warning light, then the car goes into 'limp' mode of 2,500rpm max but i dont get any of that (thankfully!) all that happens is the message flashes up once after i start the car and goes away for the duration of the journey.

i know this is probably the wrong place to ask but it does give motive to me signing up  so with that ill stick it in the engine section :)

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

apparently its EW10J4, im looking at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSA_EW/DW_engine#EW10 and it says there is a RFV, RFR and a S of that type but couldnt find that mentioned on the VIN lookup website, how do you tell? (completely idle curiosity btw :cheesy:)
