radio code

hi guys,just got myself a pug 406 rapier 2lt hdi 2002,peugeot reckon if i disconnect battery for whatever reason i wont need code when putting battery back on because after the year 2000 most models store all information in the radio,can anyone tell me if this is correct or has anybody tried this before,thanks guys.

It's coded to the car's BSI (think CPU with "issues").
