No, no, it's just on one airvent, the silver bit on the end (that you grab to adjust the direction) is missing. Like it was broken off or something
Not what I meant, mine's got silver rings around the dials 8)

I don't know why you don't keep the ICE standard. The aftermarket stereos look yuck in the 6. You can get an iPod connector on ebay that connects through the cd changer port and will put the info on the mfd

Well, the ICE unit is OK, but I already have most bits for aftermarket unit, so I am going to do that anyway.

One worrying thing ( ) I got in the car this morning and the clutch pedal was all the way down and I had to bring it back up with my foot. But was fine after that. I know the car had new brakes fitted so I am wondering if they havent bled the system properly.......

They havent bled the hydraulic clutch. Its an easy job. For them

Are you taking all the components of the original audio out, including speakers?

How easy is it to bleed the clutch? (For me? )

With regards to audio, I already have an Alpine HU, an iPod adapter for it, a Kenwood 4ch amp, Focal 165 component speakers for the front and Kenwood's 6x9 bass speakers + amp. The last piece of kit is great as it gives a massive amount of boom without the need to take over the boot with the subwoofers. So all I need is time to fit it all. And considering I have done all this on my previous 2.1TD, it won't be a problem as I know how every panel is held to the car (generally with spit and BlueTak! :? )

That's cracking Cap'n - a nice metallic black 8)

You know what fella I have a confession about the Volvo - I've got one or two dodgy tyres cos I've got a wobble/vibration at 70mph. Bloody marvelous and this has happened to me on at least 3 newly bought cars before :x

The Volvo has only done 500 miles since April 2008 so I reckon it must have sat on a flat trye and miss-shaped it :frown:

I'd get them all spun up on a balancing machine and then you'll know what to do. Goodyear NCT5's are my favourite and cost (only) £58.00 ish. To be fair you wanna sort that out sharpish cos the steering rack etc etc etc won't take kindly to being wobbled (this is why the Volvo is STILL in my garage).

I really hate the first few weeks of a new car :|

Not too bad by the looks, I'm going to try to do the job after work tomorrow (in the hour before sunset). As far as I can tell the process is as follows:

You need:
1. Turkey baster
2. 500ml bottles, clear plastic (coke bottle)
3. Jack, wheel wrench, locking alloy key thing
4. One-way valve bleeder (couple of quid from halfords, just a bit of clear tubing with a valve in it)

Process:
1. Pull out the air filter box to gain access to the clutch bleed valve
2. Use a turkey baster to near-empty the brake fluid reservoir, putting the dirty stuff into a clear bottle. Pus some clean stuff in the reservoir.
3. Take the cap off the clutch slave cylinder bleed nipple and put the bleed kit on. make sure it's the right way round. Put the othr end into the bottle of dirty fluid below the liquid level
4. Unscrew the bleed nut and pump the clutch a few times, check the reservoir level (DO NOT let it run out!), repeat until new fluid is coming out into the bottle
5. Close the clutch bleed nut, remove the tubing and put the cap and air filter box back on
6. Pump the clutch about 40 times (according to Haynes)

7. Take the front n/s wheel off
8. Take the cap off the bleed nipple, put the kit on with the end below the fluid line in the bottle, undo the nut
9. Pump the brake slowly a few times, check fluid level in the reservoir, repeat until clean fluid is coming out
10. Close the bleed nut, remove the pipe, put the cap on, put the wheel on
11. Repeat for front o/s, rear n/s then rear o/s in that order

12. Beer.

It'll take 1.5-2 hours to do the hard way on a saloon or about an hour in the coupe with brembo brakes and standard alloys since you can do it without removing the front wheels!. It may (I hope!) be possible to do it by jacking up the rear end and shoving a couple of axle stands under to save taking the wheels off. Or a saloon/estate can just drive up a pair of ramps

Just re-read that. Sounds more like they didn't close the bleed nut properly (air filter box out to access it)

mine looks fine, perfectly colour matched to the 406, and sound a hell of a lot better than the crap Philips/Clarion units they put in there as standard. The sound quality from them is awful.

Hi Captain,

Back to the world of peugeot then 8) As you may know from before I was looking at getting rid of my 406. Cant seem to part with her to be honest. Have been doing a fair few test drives and Cant bare to see it go for pennies and auto trader forget it!!!.

So the conclusion is run it into the ground    .

What made you come back to peugeot then? I have been so un decided what to replace it with.

Welly has gone Volvo.
