I bought my car last week with 12mnths test but 1 mnths tax. My problem is how do I tax the damn thing? The insurance company are dragging there heels getting the certificate sent out so I cant tax it at the post office and I cant do it online as the DVLA database doesnt show me as the registered keeper, could take upto 6 weeks! So any suggetions how to get it taxed?

Have you got the renewal reminder or the new keeper's supplement of the V5? Insurance company should be able to issue a cover note immediately even if they can't get the cert out for a few days.
