Have you searched on here?
I think air leaks between turbo & inlet manifold or egr valve problems are more common / cheaper to fix

2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)

2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Probably the throttle sensor or something maybe vacuum operated (solenoids?)

The Turbo's don't really fail on the HDi's

A couple of weeks ago, I fixed a power loss problem on a Peugeot Expert HDi. The rubber pipe leading from the intercooler to the turbo, just in front of and below the radiator had a split about an inch long. The vehicle had no power going up hills, oil dripping from the said pipe, and black smoke coming out the exhaust when you revved the engine.

A split intercooler/turbo pipe is more common then a turbo failure, I'm not saying your turbo isn't faulty, but I would check all other possible causes first, including looking closely at those pipes.

I had to changed 3 of the turbo pipes on my old 806 110 HDI (at different times, 2 when on my holls), as jasper said, no power, black smoke, dripping oil but I had the K light up each time.

The bottom of the hose rubs on a radiator bracket and is hard to spot, athough when mine went it made a *massive* wooshing sound people would turn and look in the street.

Most noticeable boost is between 1800 - 2800 rpm. Some lag in 2nd and 3rd is evident early on and then it should pull pretty strong between the revs I said.

You sure it needs replacing? it would be very rare to be honest.

Labour would be around 4 hours? I would say including oil change, testing etc etc.
