Damn noisy wipers

Post by eoin27 »

I have a pair of Bosch wipers in the car for the last 3 months and there is no sign of streaking or wiper wear at all. They should last for a good while yet. But they make such an annoying noise. Its not a squeal or screech. Its like a knocking noise when the wiper is in motion. Its only the driver one ( i think ), and it only happens when the windscreen is wet.

Has anyone had this happen to them before? I don't feel like getting a new set of wipers every couple of months.

Every so often I try bosch wipers, impressed with their claims that are written all over the packet. After about two weeks I go back and buy halfords own brand.
I have found every bosch wiper blade I have ever bought has been crap. They make noises, leave rubber residue on the screen and generally just dont work very well. I find Halfords standard wipers always perform exceptionally!* And with a trade card they are always half price!!

*Bet someone will say now that bosch make halfords wipers and ruin my argument!!!

Did you get them from aceparts? The first ones I cought were Valeo @ £33/pair, the current set were £11 and they're easily as good, they work great and there's no judder at all. Just be aware you may need to "adjust" the arms by bending them slightly to get suitable even pressure.

Valeo flat blades, not cheap knockoffs.
