<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Correct, but the handbrake is so ineffective, you have to fit the foot brakes and for some reason the abs kicks in when you dosteve_earwig wrote:ABS don't work on handbrakes

Re: 406 buying advice?
prolly because the back wheels stop turning, so the car senses the skid, and the abs kicks in to correct it, which is waht its designed to do.eoin27 wrote:Correct, but the handbrake is so ineffective, you have to fit the foot brakes and for some reason the abs kicks in when you dosteve_earwig wrote:ABS don't work on handbrakes
my handbrakes been no bad since i adjusted the cable up a bit, but i think i need new shoes, as theres a wee grumbly noise off the back for about 2 mins after pulling away if you have had the handbrake on.

Re: 406 buying advice?
Why would you want to use the foot brake and the handbrake at the same time while in motion?

Re: 406 buying advice?
I wouldn't. But when 'testing' the handbrake, i had to apply the footbrake to prevent me driving into a wall. Obviously, i only tested it the once. lesson learned.mjb wrote:Why would you want to use the foot brake and the handbrake at the same time while in motion?
