Just back from the garage that was gonna do diagnostics and he says he reckons its the fuel pump which is going

I ask so how much is that and he says no point replacing it cos the bill will run into over a grand as needs replace injectors, the whole fuel system

That can't be right surely. i asked so what did the diagnostics say and he was very vague about it. He didnt even seem sure where the intercooler was

Lass at reception whispered i am better taking it to a diesel specialist.
Strangely enough the diagnostics light on dash had been on till then and after taking it out of there, its off permanently now.
Now get this, driving it up to garage was losing power and crawling as usual but today driving it back home, just after few meters, it was driving perfect. Just to be sure i was not imagining this, drove 25 miles, went onto A roads and stuff, tried accelerating in 2, 3, 4 and 5th gears and was performing in the way we all love of HDi engines

Was going like the clappers. Stopped engine for 30 minutes and started it again to see if it was a one off and it continued running perfect. Now i am really confused big time
Got the diagnostics print out here with me if its any help. Looking at it afterwards the idiot had left the fuel filter not tightened properly and was leaking fuel (he didnt change it as he reckons there is no point

). Have now took it to another garage in Bathgate and he says thinks usually its airflow meter like guys had suggested here. Specifically told him check egr valve, airflow meter and put new fuel filter so see what he says tomorrow.
Hate saying this but in Scotland simple things that much harder to take care of than England. Wish was still in London, this would have been taken of by now surely. Sucks
