Hypothetically speaking, would these fit on me D8? I read in one thread here that the wheel can have five studs on the outside but still be a four-bolt job. Or maybe I just imagined that, I'm getting old these days...

Saxo VTR/VTi 97> 4x108 15 to 20 65.1
406/406 Coupe 95> 4x108 15 to 25 65.1 195/65/15
(from http://www.carlsalter.com/wheel_fitments.html)

Looks like that's a yes, although I see they're 185/55 R14 so they'll probably look odd. You'd better make sure they fit around the calipers too.

If they fit your Saxo, then they'll fit the Pug providing, as Steve has already said, that they clear the caliper. If the wheels you have are 14's and you have the 283mm discs, then I would've said they wouldn't fit as the brakes only just clear 15" rims. Also, your speedo is likely to be waaaaaay out as I'm assuming the rolling radius of your Saxo tyres will be a lot smaller/shorter than the one on the 406 wheel. Better acceleration, but higher revs when cruising.

And those 18" Hortaz's won't fit a 406, wrong stud pattern. You could always be the first to do a 407 hub conversion to get your wheels on if you wanted?

Wouldn't dream of it... or swapping out my rear drums for a disc axle...
