It illuminates in general.. but the light doesnt come on when i push it in.. I assume the bulb wants changing, iv pulled the button out and the bulb looks to be a soldered in type one.. How do i replace it?
Also, when pushing same button in, it just kinda pops back to original position.. i.e doesnt stay slightly depressed in the way the hazards button does.. should it do this?
Cheers.

Re: Heater rear window button
You'll have to be a lot more specific mate. I can think of four types of demister buttons for the 406. D8 or D9? Climate Control or manual?

Re: Heater rear window button
Hello there,
The button wont stay in as the screen is on a timer, the switch starts the timer and it cuts out after a set time.
Hitting the switch again cancels the timer and turns off the heater.
Turning the ignition off resets it too so the lack of the bulb to warn you it's on isn't too much of a worry.
Cheers

Does your heated windscreen actually work?
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
Re: Heater rear window button
I doubt it!! Which is why i wanted to changed the bulb to see if the switch was working to start with!mjb wrote:Does your heated windscreen actually work?

Why not just 'liberate' another switch from a scrappy? I liberated a speedo control box for mine earlier this week and it's working perfectly now!

I think the switch is fine mate, its just the bulb behind thats gone!HimBigChief wrote:Why not just 'liberate' another switch from a scrappy? I liberated a speedo control box for mine earlier this week and it's working perfectly now!

Easier and quicker to replace the full switch with a liberated scrappy one than to replace the bulb.I think the switch is fine mate, its just the bulb behind thats gone!
