My local Pug dealers, (Corby Motors Peugeot), has closed down its garages in Corby & Kettering - latest victims of the 'downturn'. Probably not too much of an issue for me as Marshall Peugeot in Huntingdon is 200yds from where I work.
Now what would you put this down to:
a) Not charging punters enough.
b) The inevitable consequence of 30% drop in car sales.
c) Not making any cars worth buying since 2004

Re: Stealers not charging enough?
I was going to post up about Peugeot's latest range of cars recently....
My opinion is that the 308 and 207? 208? look sh*t.
Ford are doing some really nice stuff, Vauxhall Corsa's are 'cool', everyone else wants a Bini or a Fiat 500...I dunno I just think new Pugs look, well, weird. The car's actually look like they're made of plastic to me

My money's on a hideous cross between a Ford Scorpio and a Cadillac CTSteamster1975 wrote:I wonder what the 408 will look like ...
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Re: Stealers not charging enough?
This is all well and good, but since I can't afford to pay Stealer fees I have to drive a car I can more or less maintain myself...

Re: Stealers not charging enough?
I did my work experience in Corby Motors back when it was a Renault garage in 1998. never took my car back there after they became Pug. My 405 had some faults after sale and it came back to me with even more afterwards.
Former 406 owner, now just another chav in a 306 D turbo!

Re: Stealers not charging enough?
Update: well, they're going ahead with it. The article says they've already instigated the policy in the Fatherland and it 'decimated the used car industry'. So, woo-hoo, time to go out and buy a super-cheap fourth-hand 406
