What, on two wheels? The V6 and tubby saloons handle like an utter pig because the weight distribution's all wrong and the front anti-roll bar and springs are far too weak. The estate handles VASTLY better than the saloon because of the much better weight distribution and the flex in the chassis works well with the weak suspension. The coupe handles VASTLY better than the estate because of the much lower centre of gravity, stiffer springs+shocks, stiffer chassis and bigger wheels.

In a fast corner, the estate's very tail happy and a bit big to control on the edge, the saloon just understeers everywhere but the coupe's balanced and responsive. Also when you take a corner at speed in the coupe, you don't end up seasick.

Put it this way, there's a large radius 270 degree corner I know well. Without inducing oversteer, the estate could get round it 84mph without understeering, the saloons around 75mph and the coupe I dunno because it was still gripping at 95mph. 3/5 series beamers tend to start twitching around 80mph because they're typically driven by people with no clue about progressive throttle control
