HELP!! Electric seat not functioning properly

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

No it's in half
The cable itself is like a speedo cable in that it has a square 'drive' at one end. It has a plastic sheath, then a coiled metal outer core, not unlike net curtain wire. The cable sits inside these. I will get the old one off Chris later, at the moment he is going to bodge it either by just getting it up enough so it's okay to drive or by robbing the passenger seat one and replacing the passenger one at a later date (after all, who cares if they can't adjust it!!). I would love to know how it sheared, as it was sheared all the way through

As for the clips, we don't know yet what it plugs into, as Chris pulled the loose end out. He took the seat cover (where the memory function buttons are) off and you could see about 3 inches of the cable poking out of a controller box (it had sheared at this point).
The other end had been hanging loose out of the back of the seat in the rear of the car.
