Paypal scam

Post by bangernom1cs »

Hi,

Its well off topic but....

Thought I'd just just let you know about a phishing scam we had sent to us from a firm called.

www.paypa1.com a bit like the way i spell my name on here substituting a number for a letter!

Its very convincing as is the e-mail they sent ,and as most of us use ebay etc I thought it might be worth broadcasting it.

Yeah I've had 3 emails recently from sender Pay-PaI (that's a capital i instead of the l). Used to get loads of them so well used to it but haven't had any for ages. Hope they aren't starting up again....

I mostly get emails with subjects like "A huge Phallus 4 U" or "Thrill her with Your massive Weapon" :)

I once had a fantastic variation on the Nigerian email scam, many years back. Whereas normally you're messaged by the son of a dispossessed president or general, trying to get back his family's money, this one was far more creative.

Apparently Nigeria had launched their first astronaut aboard a US shuttle. However their space program had run out of money and they couldn't afford to bring him back down. After several years in orbit, he'd amassed a huge amount of back pay and if you were willing to contribute to the cost of bringing him back to Earth he'd gladly share his wealth with you ^_^ Just reply with your account number, date of birth, etc etc...

Look on the bright side,
If the Nigerians sent a taxi to the moon on our scammed money ......It'd be a Peugeot hopefully!

I got the same thing, I think, it's got the dots but it came up as gibberish when I opened it. Advice from PayPal.
