Tidy looking 406 that, nice colour too. A remap is certainly in order for towing.

Your 306's conrod failure is surprising common yet kinda pot luck! Peugeot never admitted a problem with the 1996-1998 Diesels and concluded that is was cheaper to let the customers find out which one's were dodgy and then replace those engines rather than call the whole lot back in for exchange  similarly other cars built during that period would soldier on for ever....

That has gotta be the best 406 colour... i want one that colour!

Its the 306's 1.9XUD with the dreaded 'DHY' engine code, or the chocolate conrod engine as they are known in the trade, 70k+ one are problem engines around the 1997-1998 ish dudes.

Hope this helps anyone who has or is looking for one.

From being on pug306.net I found its a common fault with the DHY engine (only after buying the poxy thing)- was thinking of sticking another engine in but it would be another second hand engine that I dont know the history of and the £500 I would spend getting it and fitting could be better spent on remapping the 406.

So if anyone needs any bits for a 306 let me know :cheesy:
