Back Wiper Fault

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

If the fuse is ok, open the tailgate and look at where the wires come out of the body into the tailgate, pull out the rubber cover for the wires and carefully check all the wires for any breakages.

This is the most common problem with tailgates and hatchbacks, continuous opening and closing causes the wires to break.

To fix it, solder a little piece of wire on each side of the break and insulate.

If you don't find a break, put a test lamp to the motor wires, live means motor fault, take it off and wire it to a battery to confirm.

No live means a broken wire somewhere, or a switch/relay fault.

Passenger fusebox, F25, 20A. Don't think it's the fuse as it supplies the front wipers too.
As jasper says, most likely wiring onto tailgate or motor - I'd start by testing at the motor.
If it's the wiring, expect other cores to fail soon, (worth carefully checking if anything else on tailgate doesn't work).
If you have to repair any cables, do them all. If you want any readings for comparison with one that works, let me know.
