got a 90 bhp hdi, and today the speedo played up for a few seconds, ive read that the first thing to replace is the speedo control box behind the glove box

what does this look like

It's a black box, quite far up behind the glove box, accesible from the passenger footwell. It has about 8 cables going into a red plug that plugs into it.
