Anyone which box shoud I tick?
(1) my sump tray
(2)When i say sump tray i dont think i made myself clear, i mean the big flappy bit of plastic that keeps all of the road
(3)One of mine has the [under tray[/u] missing so maybee leave it off?
(4)Ahhh the engine bay undertray.
(5)That's usually held on with zip ties and my new car's will also join the zip tie club as soon as I need to take the tray off for anything.
(6)The problem is being under the car the bolts holding it on get exposed to the worst conditions and consequently corrode. It's honestly a hell of a lot easier to just tie it on than faff(?eh!) with the bolts
Conclusion:
What I can say is that I have a quote of £124.00 for the part required, £2-66 for the eight fixing screws/bolts? £12 labour +vat, not bad for a flappy bit of plastic! or is a sump tray1 phew!!

Hold on, I think I know........the undertray is knackered! most people on here frigg up some penny washers and zip ties through a clean part of the tray (near the existing fixing holes/slots) and if you do a good job it'll last well.

Oh and another tip is to leave it in place when doing an oil change and just let the oil dribble over the back of the tray to save disturbing your 'fixings'.

Well, your honor, I had fixed my undertray satisfactorily for some 2 years until I engaged the services of my mechanic who failed to appreciate the fine work I had carried out with numerous tie wraps, old penny washers and the like and fixed the undertray back onto the car in a rather slovenly manner. Later, whilst negociating rural snow-filled roads my undertray and I parted company, silently.

When I decided to sell the car some months later I was lucky enough for the new purchaser to reason nothing to be unduly missing in respect of under-slung protective equipment and that was the last time I saw her, I mean it.

You don't have to have one but they do keep the engine bay clean (Peugeot electrics eh?) and they also help with aerodynamics and correct airflow through the radiator(s) and engine bay.

Rather than buy a new one maybe hold out foe a second hand one sometime?

In this instance I have taken advice just like any good government worth his salt minister would.

It is my conclusion in this particular episode that said law is commonly refferred to as being.

'An Ass'

(which means that its a waste of time fitting an undertray)

Therefore I am submitting my legitimate, and within the existing rules ,consulting fees
of £122.99 & VAT which is is fair and reasonable in the circumstances and good value to
the hard working members of this community!
