another air con problem

recently i noticed that the passenger footwell carpet was soaking and couldnt figure it out so let it dry out and now.
there is white stains on the carpet and white stains on the side of the consul. the air con doesnt seem to be as cold as it did.

is it easy to get to the pipe work to see if its split or come off and is it easy to replace?

your help will be greatly appreciated

I've never heard of any problems with the condense drainage from 406's evaporator boxes but generally if you can see water dripping directly onto the CAT underneath then this is where the drain hose terminates and is therefore working ok.

You could check the Pollen Filter I suppose (and the plastic splash-deck around the bulkhead) just to make sure water isn't getting in here.

Unfortunately water can get in through the sunroof (if you have one), the aerial mount, the door seals, the plastic door-liner shield, the rear light clusters, the rear doors etc. not that it's common for 406's to leak but it does happen.
