Re: Cruise control d9 1999 hdi110 **pls help!!!**
99 hdi never had cruise. I think only came to the hdi when they multiplexed them. So i don't think you could add it.
if you can you'll need switches, switches on the pedals (possibly a new pedal box), software.......

doesnt James say here that none of that stuff is required? if theres sockets for the stalks and button then theres a good chance of enabling it isnt there?jameslxdt wrote:none of that is needed on a HDi mjb, the cruise is entireley controlled by the engine ecu, as theres no throttle to hold open, the ecu looks at the road speed you set it to and compares it with rpm Vs. load, and then maintains the same rail pressure and injection duration and angle, with only slight deviations of these to maintain the speed, though the ecu doesnt monitor road speed it only monitors the rpm once the cruise is set

I think the none multi-plexed HDI's never had cruise, so there will not be the wiring or a software upgrade available for it. best bet is to go see if the wiring is there, as a starting point.
If there is your still going to need all the switches/stalks for it and then have the bsi/ecu reprogrammed. so its going to cost a bit.
in my opinion i wouldn't bother, my new car has cruise and i don't use it alot as you get better economy using ur right foot

The cc in the 320D I drove was awful, kept losing and gaining speed to keep it roughly right. The 406 V6 cc however *gently* adjusts pressure on the throttle body via a vacuum actuator (you can feel it working the pedal) and maintains speed in the same way a human would, except a lot more precisely. Can't see the 406 diesel being as sweet though...

I used it on a rented 407 hdi estate not so long back for a long road trip down to the bottom of cornwall and it worked a treat, saved so much fuel, if the 406 cruise control was anything similar then its worth having imomjb wrote:Not the case on petrol 406smbell666 wrote:in my opinion i wouldn't bother, my new car has cruise and i don't use it alot as you get better economy using ur right foot![]()

Re: Cruise control d9 1999 hdi110 **pls help!!!**
hi all, my 1999 110 hdi now has cruise working! heres the story......
wanted to get blipper locking working- in the 6+ years ive had it its never worked even the stealers couldnt get working or explain why not.
in scrap yard saw a 2001 y reg lx hdi 110 estate (round stalks not later flat type) with blipper key in it.it didnt have cruise control fitted.
bought engine ecu +bsi+key+dash clocks =35 pounds ,engine ecu was bosch and siemens bsi ,same as my existing but with different part no.s
took home , took battery off waited 15 mins and removed old bsi,ecu and clocks.changed blipper and imobliser chip to my existing key blade, swapped ecu, bsi+clocks 20min job, nice and easy.reconnect battery (normal bsi wake up procedure ofc!)
press locking button - hey pressto remote locking - result!!
I then realised my leather door cards (previous addition!)cill lights didnt come on so took it an independant peugeot speciaist in Reading, berks (will post this contact if allowed???) who has the dealer laptop- a great guy btw ex peugeot mechanic and very very cheap!.he had previously tried to enable cruise for me before but there were no options for this is the ecu/bsi
he then plugged laptop in and switched on door lights in bsi-
he then noticed cruise in the options list , it was marked as 'absent' so he clicked this, a dropdown list appeared an he selected 'present' also in the engine ecu list he found something called (from memory
) "survient-vitesse" also marked as absent so we guessed vitesse ment speed in french so marked this as present.
worth mentioning at this point that about a year ago i bought a cruise stalk and on/off switch from jameslx on here and plugged this straight into my cars loom to try and get cruise b4, so stalk and on/off switch already fitted.
anyway, drove home got on the motorway in 4 th gear ,turned switch on, CRUISE WORKS!!!! and its great!!!
This proves that 1999 hdi 110 with bosch ecu and siemens bsi at least- is prewired for cruise.
one point to note with the bsi/ecu/speedo swap the mileage changes to that of the donor vehicle- my original mileage was 214,000+ it now reads 132,000 . also my car is an estate and so was the donor car- im guessing if the donor was a saloon the rear wash wipe wouldn't work?
i also got the reg number , vin number and build number from the donor car-i think this is used by peugeot laptop to be able to access the cars electronics.

Re: Cruise control d9 1999 hdi110 **pls help!!!**
I think another reason it wouldn't work initially is that cruise wasn't available on HDi's until 2001, so I guess it wasn't in the options list for your car. Once you swapped the gizmos from the 2001 car, it became an option.
I researched this a bit before buying mine as I was determined to have cruise. I'd read that you couldn't sensibly retrofit. The need to get a post 2001 car led to me paying a king's ransom for mine
and getting mad every time I find another car park crease in its flanks

Very interesting that you were able to swap over those few things and you have sorted out so many problems. I always wondered where the reciever of the remote locking was. I might be interested in doing that sometime if i feel like getting cruise control. Result! The trip comp option is defintely possible on D9's btw
