Squeak from the brakes but only driving in a straight line

Strange one this. If I am driving in a perfectly straight line, my passenger front brake seems to squeak like its rubbing. If I turn the steering wheel slightly left or right it stops. If I press the brakes gently when its squeaking then it stops.
I am sure it's the brakes cos it sounds the same as when I do brake and I get normal brake squeal.

Any ideas what is going on? Is it anything to worry about, i.e does it show I have a sticky brake caliper or collapsing flexy pipe maybe that goes away if the wheel is turned?
I have my MOT tomorrow so will see if they find anything on the brake checker doobry whatsit.

Sounds like they need taking to bits, cleaning, copperslipping, and puting back. I'd wait to see if it passes first though so you don't have to rush trying to do something now.

Sounds like a plan. I just did a search on the forums and someone mentioned something about sticky guides causing the pads not to move back enough after brake release.
This sound likely, although I only replaced the pads and discs this time last year and used plenty of copper grease.
Will see what the mot man has to say. I hope he's gentle.

A question though.

My rear calipers seem a bit stiff on the D9 estate and I get a similar problem on the rear RHS.
I noticed this when I did the rear discs, which was a pain and time was getting on so I didnt devote enough effort
in this area as it was also getting dark too.
How easy is it to get the guide pins out and re-lubricate them?
I've done the fronts loadsa times but this is my first car with rear discs.

Just for an update, it passed the MOT without even an advisory! So that's a bonus! I will get the old copper grease out this weekend though and grease them all up.

HI,
I mightn't have made myself clear on this.
Its the sliding bolts (behind the plastic cap)which the calipers themselves slide on.
The right rear one was exceptionally stiff when putting having put the new pads on,
struggled to open up the caliper itself (not the piston) upon re-fitting.
And yes, the pad pins were truly AWFUL to do which is why I was running out of time and daylight.

Oh thems, I had to take the caliper off to get mine moving, no biggie but I managed to hole one of the condom-thin boots and had to buy a complete new pin to replace it.

I think Pug forgot to add any form of lubricant when they assembled them
