Remember your first day at work? Mine lasted for years. I reckon when a baby's newly born its first day lasts for years too, but as it gets older the days pass faster and faster - remember how long summer holidays lasted when you were at school? Fecking ages, school seemed a distant memory but they were only six weeks. Now I'm 44 the days seem too short, there never seems to be enough time to do anything. It must be worse for my dad, he's 76 and the days must zoom past in the blink of an eye.

Anyway, stop grizzling about the heat you lot, it a few weeks I expect it to be high 30s here, maybe into the 40s and I'll be pretending to be an insect, rushing from shade to shade so I don't get cooked. The other day I saw the gauge on the terrace here read 28 and I remembered how I used to consider that hot :(

The trouble with the UK weather is that when it gets hot it gets really humid and horrible and all sorts of little flies/nats come out in the air. We also have horrible congested cities, we all works like dogs, and are generally not geared up too well for hot weather.

You guys would probably just hoon off down the beach with some sheila's for a barby and a party :cheesy:

Lucky buggers.

Coincidentally, Brits also moan about cold weather. Anything below 0C and it's headline news...

What? You'd rather have deadly spiders, snakes, alligators, box jellies, sharks and kangaroos instead? I'll take a British mosquito over that any time!

It's the British way, we always talk/complain about the weather! I love hot weather but not humidity, especially wearing bike leathers!
(As it happens I've mothballed the bike for this week because the head gasket is well and truly knackered now; nice cold aircon in the pug for me! :cheesy: )
