Ring your local tax office.

Things that appear too good to be true, usually are not true.

How did the tax office get your e-mail address ???

Unless you have given the tax office your e-mail address and expressed a desire to receive communications from them by e-mail, then you will not receive e-mails from the tax office.

By the way, is the refund for £480 ish ? :supafrisk:
So is mine

I dont think that they would also disclose an amount of cash through email without any other ID, like maybe a part of your NI perhaps?

What about viewing the source of the email, and see if the link it points you to is actually where its taking you.. ;)

edit- Should have read the FULL post. See what happens when you jump to quickly kids?

Attached Chromes nice warning.. Stay away! ;)

I work in the antispam/antivirus biz, and I've got to admit it's one of the most convincing I've ever seen when relayed through the right compromised servers (which this was!). The key giveaway iirc was that it had an attachment something like filename.pdf.html - you never usually get dual-filetype extensions legitimately.
