What langauge does XUD11BTE speak?

Post by poddack »

Hello, anybody know what engine ECU reader will work with my 2.1TD and what protocol does it use, OBD?

So, it's not OBD2, it must be OBD then?

It's a protocol that's pretty much only supported by the diag2000 or the pc-based Lexia interface. both options are more expensive than the car itself, so you're best off paying a dealer for diagnostics
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Have you got problems or do you just need the k light put out ?
If it's only the light then disconecting the battery over night will reset the ECU.

She's always had the engine warning light on as long as I've had her and I've been led to believe by a "reputable" Citroen garage her in Brizzle that it's the stop solenoid which I can half guess is true, the engine does run on for 5 seconds after the key is out. It would be nice to turn the light off. It's more the electronics engineer in me. I'm interested in live data coming out of the brain and maybe in the future a bit of tuning. Engine electronics is one field I haven't touched yet. The problem of smoky and juddery start in the morning is either cheap glow plugs or piston ring / valve collar tbc.

There is a simple way to check the glow plugs individually without removing them....

Remove the wire that goes to the glow plugs from the loom, remove the connection from each plug, take a test lamp and connect one side to the positive battery terminal, touch the other test lamp connector against each plug terminal where the wire fits, if it is in working order the lamp will light....no light = faulty glow plug.

For ease of tuning why not replace that useless Lucas epic with a Bosch one from an early 1.9td, then you can tune the pump and turbo, then just remove the bulb from the dash.
