I can't help being more interested in why you need to urinate into a bottle :?

I am now 98.9% convinced that the sound is coming from the door. I can actually hear some scraping/rolling sound inside it before it goes *knock*

Had to do a 24hr urine test as they are trying to figure out why I have hypertension at 28 years.... :|

There are times when I worry about you, Welly

But not while occasionally filling the tank every 700 miles or so...
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

You Diesel guys amuse me with your tails of questionable distances, mpg's, speed, comfort, oh wait.....

I washed the 406 at the weekend but still haven't done the advert - why am I so lazy these days? every night I get home and the 6 is just sat there :(

The Vauxhall Arsetray is getting the mother of all mechanical makeovers/MOT's today and is set to cost a pretty penny so I'll need to shift the 6 on the rapid....Easter weekend might be a good time :|

sorry, carry on...

Jasper, did you trace the source of the sound?

We had a good look at the mot test station, couldn't find a fault. I haven't had time to do the service on the car yet, hopefully I'll do it over Easter or when my wife is on holiday next week, business has been very brisk lately, thankfully :D

Check the checkstrap in the door, I had a Citroen C2 not long ago with a noisy door, this turned out to be the checkstrap broken.

I also had a noise on my 4x4, this was due to a worn bottom hinge.

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Fixed - finally. This was starting to really annoy me, so I ripped the door card off completely (as opposed to just the speaker) and immediately saw the offending "part". It's that stupid hard foam thing, which is attached to the enforcer bar, that's come unstuck from the door panel. Just sprayed some glue to stop it moving temporarily. Will fix it properly when I come to sound deaden the door.

This reminds me of when i was a fleet manager in the mid 90's. One of the Directors was complaining of a knocking noise when turning right in his Merc 190E (remember them!)

The merc dealer had it 2 days , spent hours on the ramp and on road test, and yes there was a knock, but they couldnt trace it.

Typical mercedes thoroughness, the Valeter found the "clonk" when cleaning it before we had it back....

A loose golf ball under the passager seat clonking into the runner of the seat!

The bill was a good few hundred quid as well from memory!!!
