Removal of Clock(time) on Phase 1 406?

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Removal of Clock(time) on Phase 1 406?

Post by Leopold »

Hi all,

I have a 1999/T Peugeot 406 which is a Phase 1 shape, and have noticed that the bulb as gone that lights up the clock? but how do you remove the clock from the dash, is it the matter of just using a screwdriver or alike and pull it out??

Please Help....

Levering it out without leaving marks is the tricky bit :)

Standard bulbs from maplins/halfrauds/etc will do, but be careful about removing those sods from the holders :)

Also ,

Beware,(on a D8)
The pcd board that the bulb twists into becomes very brittle with heat and breaks easily.
I learnt to live without the illumination tbh and used the clock that was in my Sony stereo!

hi, the bulb has gone on mine also. took the clock out and tried to fit the replacement bulb but its a tricky little sod to get working :frown: the old bulb was attached to the little holder with wires that seemed to be crimped on to make the connection. i tried to attach the wires from new bulb but it's to small so i've tried abit of foil to make the curcuit but still no joy. also checked fuses but the clock still works. any pointers guys? i want to stop my beloved pug from this slow decline into old age, if i don't stop the rot now all sorts of stuff will go wrong with her
