Hi everyone my 1997 estate bonnet has damage just wondered if a phase 2 Yreg saloon bonnet would fit my car ? thanks in advance ..Rob
1997 406 2.0 petrol estate lx..D8.............OH dear where does this nut go?

No it won't... Well, it will but you'd need to also replace the whole front end (headlights, bumper, wings). If you do, you'll have a D9 front end with a D8 arse.

Sounds good to me :cheesy: I don't think you have to change the wings though, not the outer ones anyway. Probably the inner wings, slam panel, radiator panel... Let us know how you get on :supafrisk:

What's an "inner" and "outer" wings?

Heh, wheel arch liners? :P

You'd definitely need to change the "outer" wings as the D9 headlights are different - and they cut into the wings.

Why don't you just swap the D8 bonnet with another er...D8 bonnet with the same paint code? You can get a decent one for £30-50 at a breakers.

Swapped mine a while back due to lacquer peel on the original.

Mind you it was my second purchase due to a certain courier company knackering the first one I had delivered :frown:
Needless to say I changed the next one when I picked it up. Only 4 bolts and a bit of alignment when I got home.

i have a bonnet from 98 saloon, which should just bolt on, pm me if your still interested
