407 WHEELS ON A 406?

Post by PUGOFF »

I know the 407 has 5 studs and not 4 but has anyone looked into changing the hubs off a 407 on to a 406 as there is a few now in breakers yards / write offs etc ??

I would very much doubt if 407 hubs would fit the 406, the 407 has a completely different suspension setup front and rear.

In doing my research into buying a 407 there have been reports of problems with the front hubs and wheel bearings on the 407.

I think 307 wheels will fit instead though, may need a spacer too.

I've got 15" 307 Rapier alloys fitted to my 406, no spacers needed.

I'm purely going on the basis of "it hasn't crashed and I haven't died yet" on this one, though. I know sod all about cars, really
2002 (D9) Peugeot 406 Coupe SE, 2.2 litre Petrol. Scarlet Red/Rouge Ecarlate/Rosso Scarlatto. Black Leather interior. SOLD :(
2008 (E60 LCI) BMW 525i M-Sport, 3.0 litre Petrol. Carbonschwarz Metallic. Black Dakota Leather and Myrtlewood interior.
