Mercedes have (had?) a weird system on the A Class where you shifted the gear stick like normal but electronics did the rest...
Other makes have like a VW 'DSG' box with flappy paddles and 2 x clutches where the next gear along is already engaged and waiting (to go wrong probably)

You could always contact ProDrive for a semi auto Rally Style bow but it will cost around £18,000.00 to buy.

With 18,000 quids, i think i've got a whole lot of ideas...
Re: clutchless manual transmission
Sure. Just make sure you match revs *perfectly*, especially when changing down to 2nd (don't bother changing to 1st without the clutch) else you'll hear Very Bad Things... The lower the gear the faster and harder you need to throw the lever else you'll shred the gearboxjibz wrote:Hey Guys, Just wanna ask if any one knows anything about clutchless manual transmission..

Or you could just work on your clutch and throttle controlHeard it makes manual drive feel like auto ???

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

VW where doing this in 1968 with a bettle, very weard to drive, when you touched the gear leaver it disengauged the clutch useing a electronicly controled servo unit, you then changed gear and when you let go of the gear leaver it re-engauged the clutch but it only came in a 3 speed box, when sitting at the lights it worked like an auto.
As I said very weard to drive.
My mate had one and after selling it for £60 he found out they where very very rair and he could have sold the box alone for over £300

Autostick. I saw a few in Yankland (as well as turbos), iirc they were badged "automatic stickshift" which must have been confusing
I'd imagine it'd take some getting used to. Citroen had something similar (C-matic) , my aunt had a CX with one and seemed to spend most of her time changing gear
