Presuming it's a 1999 D9, that's over 1500 miles a week, EVERY week for 10 years
Surely it's got to be the result of at least one new instrument cluster being fitted and mileages being added together

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Just passed 160,000 miles...starting and running well now i have replaced the noisy pulley and put a new battery on..just waiting for the new mfd display to arrive (bloody postal strike) and on the lookout for a replacement light blue D9 bonnet as mine has the dreaded rust on it...apart from that i am very happy with it especially the cruise control, electric heated seats, sat nav and climate control.....a very good bargain £1030 for a 2002 hdi executive.

Sounds a great deal - sadly also means mine has lost a few $$$ since I bought it with 95k on the clock - now showing 137k. You get a lot of toys for your money for sure but watch out for Pug electrics!

Well my Multi function display knackered up on me, it was so bad it was unreadable and as it was the one with the sat nav sensor on it the cost is a lot more than a standard one. I managed to get one but still not arrived either due to the postal strike or the guy did not send it out when he said he did, apart from a bad connection on my tow bar which had the brake lights on when the normal lights were on the electrics have been fine (touch wood, fingers crossed etc etc)diesel406 wrote:welshviking wrote:Just passed 160,000 miles...starting and running well now i have replaced the noisy pulley and put a new battery on..just waiting for the new mfd display to arrive (bloody postal strike) and on the lookout for a replacement light blue D9 bonnet as mine has the dreaded rust on it...apart from that i am very happy with it especially the cruise control, electric heated seats, sat nav and climate control.....a very good bargain £1030 for a 2002 hdi executive.

Re: HOW MANY MILES HAS YOUR PUG COVERED?
Just bought a 406 1.9 GLX DT, It had just under 200k on the clocks but on the drive home i managed to get to just over 200k.
It has already had an engine change though and ive been told that has done 96k approx. Hopefully i wont have to change the engine in this one! My two previous cars (pug 306 1.9 and punto 1.7TD) Had to have both engines changed when i got my hands on them. The pug blew up 2 months after i bought it, and the Punto didnt even get me home from the sale when the engine blew up in that. I just dont have any luck with my cars!
Im hoping this 406 wont give me any trouble....
