XUD11BTE behaving a little better

Post by poddack »

Always had a problem with the engine running on for 5 seconds after removing the key and a engine warning light. Finally I have replaced the stop solenoid plunger and it is cured. Delphi part number 9109-719 from somewhere like Darwen Diesels or Hickleys in Taunton. The old plunger was not spring loaded and had no rubber end. The new one has both.
406 estate, 2.1TD, I fixed her, then part exchanged her for a Mercedes E300TD Avantgarde Estate.
Hmmmm, straight 6 goodness!

My Puglet has been starting instantly but coughing and spluttering for the first couple of hundred yards and down on power. I finally got round to swpping the glow plugs this morning, Before I swapped I measured their resistances and one was open circuit. A bit poor for glow plugs that are 9 months old. She's purring nicely again.
