engine humming noise

hello my 406 2.0 d9 makes a strange humming noise when the engine has stopped. people told me that is the oil cooling down are they rite

hi, i dont think it is the cooling fan, because even when the engines only been running for a few seconds the noise is there,

its a 2.0 hdi diesel 03 plate i think its a 90 bhp dut not sure on the bhp

Mine does it too, I think it's the fuel pressure dissipating.

Yes mine does it as well, always wondered what it was but as it did not affect the starting / running of the car i did not let it bother me to much
