If you want a solid repair for this problem buy some Renault exhaust mountings (4) with nuts and washers (6mm thread).

Unscrew the originals from their mounting points and screw in the Renault mountings in their place, fit the cover back on and fit the 6mm nuts and washers....job done.

They have a nut at the bottom where they break off, get a socket on them and unbolt them.

What exactly would you ask for at the renault parts dept to get the bolts you mention. I have exactly the same problem

Go to a normal motor factor or exhaust fitting place and ask for 4 Renault exhaust mountings (the rubber mountings that have a 6mm bolt at either end, get 4 nuts and washers as well), there is a picture on here somewhere in another thread about this cover, maybe try a search.
