1st off top forum 2nd HELP!!
iv got a 1999 306 rallye iv had the 406 3.0 V6 transplanted (the 1996 model 190bhp) and was wonderin what i cud do to get sum extra power besides the obv turbo/supercharger mega money options! lol any help will be appreciated also i cant get it remapped cos the ecu is mp7.0, cams havnt be made for this engine (better 1s that is) and throttle bodies are outa my range......im thinking nos is gonna be the way to go any1 on here done it or know anything about it? cheers peeps
any other suggestions would be great

p.s its got a custom exhaust and a ram air filter so its running about 205bhp but i want/need more haha
Have you done ALL the car and engine prep before blowing your cash and engine when you fit NOS?
Its a 13 year old engine, that's presumably been about a bit, is it really up to the job of taking NOS?
Even on a new engine theres a lot of prep needs doing prior to fitting NOS, (assuming you want it to last more than a few hundred miles)
Strengthening, lightening and dynamically balancing ALL the rotating / moving components as a set in the bottom end (Crankshaft, conrods, pistons) so they can stand up to all the extra forces without rattling the engine apart. (not an essentially expensive thing to do, but you'll need a full engine strip and rebuild for this). Admittedly its easier to do this than lower the compression ratio prior to fitting a Turbo or Supercharger.
Sorted out your heads already? valve gear that can both withstand the extra forces and extra heat when using NOS. As well as porting and gas flowing both heads to produce a matched pair (not cheap or easy to do properly), so you dont get engine imbalances and the resultant vibes that rip the engine apart from at those high revs. Have you looked into your cams, for what patterns are available to you, the standard ones probably won't cut it.
What about cooling? fitted the bigger radiator yet?
What about oil flow, did you select a dry sump system, or are you retaining the original system? Obviously those higher revs will need a considerably higher oil flow than the standard system will allow.
And as you "can't" get a re-map on your existing ECU, have you started to sort out an alternative ECU system so you can have twin profiles for with and without NOS, you'll need to be able to adjust the ignition timing, fuel flow, etc. Engines dont run well when set up for NOS, untill the NOS is applied (most people serious about NOS run 2 separate ECU's with a different map for each)
Then theres your clutch, gearbox, brakes, tyres (both sizes and condition), suspension, engine mounts, are they up to the job for dealing with the extra power of your NOS upgrade?
Finally your cars 10 years old, be totally honest, how sound is it structurally? you could well end up with the shell starting to crack and distort in a short space of time trying to push that much power through a 10 year old car. Unless you've stripped it and strengthened it up. I assume this isn't your main car, its just a project so you can afford to scrap it when this happens.
If you've not thought about any of the above, go away, and start seriously looking at all of these things. The amount of money, time, and effort to get a car built up to safely take NOS is not small. Or even properly tune a car without NOS / Turbos / Superchargers for that matter.
I'm not trying to p*ss on your chips here, but seriously just sticking NOS in a car / engine that has had no prior prep will only end up with you wrapped round the nearest tree/lamp post/stone built building etc. thats assuming your engine dosent blow up first, and pepper you and your passengers with shrapnel

p**s on his chips? Looked more like you took the bag off him, jumped up and down on them and poured the remains down the back of his pants lol! In all the years ive been playing with cars, ive only ever had one thats caused any trouble with shell flex, and another that ripped the diff out. Its only serious power ie 600+ bhp thats going to do that.
