I have exactly the same problem and have oil at the same spots as you, thinking of getting shot of the car.

Re: Oil leak?
Londoner, yours looks quite extreme. Mine is a very small leak, hence why this is only an annoyance to me, rather than a real issue. I've seen your thread and yours looks like something a little more serious.

Re: Oil leak?
Just done this, but there was very little oil where the flexi-hose joined the metal pipe.puggy wrote:cj try running your finger underneath the air dozer (pictured ) and see if it is
covered in oil , if so just undo the 2 nuts and jubilee clip also the small vac pipe
that is attatched to it remove clean off all oil on the face that meets the metal
manifold silicon seal and see if that stops it ....
What was surprising is that there was loads of oil on the butterfly valve that is attached in between the metal pipe and the flexi-hose one. So, I took it apart and it was full of oil! Is this normal? I don't even know how the oil would get in the insides.
I've cleaned it all up, put back together and put some clean kitchen towel where the oil collects. Will check it periodically to see where the drip might be coming from....

Re: Oil leak?
that butterfly valve is the air dozer and part of the turbo piping
and it seams quite normal for some oil residue to collect in the system

Hey puggy, where are you hiding these days?puggy wrote:that butterfly valve is the air dozer and part of the turbo piping

Yeah, I noticed some oil in the pipework when I replaced the rocker cover gasket, but it seems strange that there was oil in the butterfly assembly itself. It *seems* that's where the leak may be coming from, as it was covered in it, but maybe I am wrong.. again.
First thought it was the rocker cover gasket, nope. Then thought it was the camshaft gasket, nope. So, I am just on the lookout for anything, and this seems to be the last place oil could be coming from. There's also the leaky injector that I am suspecting but we'll see...

Re: Oil leak?
Hm well, it still seems to be coming from the leaking gasket, even though it has been replaced.... Seems strange that it's coming from the same place. I'll use jasper's method of trying to seal it up. Clean up the area with a brake cleaner and then seal it with some sealant.

Re: Oil leak?
OK, all eyes are now on the air doser thing as the oil is clearly coming from there. There's a little cap cover on it to conceal the mechanicals of the butterfly thing and it's from there that the oil is leaking from.
Is this normal to have oil in it?? Or should just get a new doser?

Re: Oil leak?
I don't even know what an air doser does, let alone know if it's supposed to be full of oil

Re: Oil leak?
You would expect a little oil in there.
Does it look like there is anything that could be sealed up to stop the leak? If not, maybe you should replace the item where the oil is leaking from.
Can you remove it to examine it?

Re: Oil leak?
Yeah, there's a cap which covers some mechanicals and that has some holes in it. I have sealed it up with Granville, but it was still leaking from somewhere. I'll remove it again and see if I can seal it up better. I'll take some pictures tomorrow.
There's quite a bit of oil in there as it's literally dripping from that cap thing but if that's normal, then a new one won't really solve the problem
